Bio Header Curtis Hedgepeth

Curtis Hedgepeth serves as the managing director of airside operations for the Clark County Department of Aviation (CCDOA). He provides strategic leadership to key airport divisions, including airside administration, operations coordinators, escorts, airfield maintenance, the control center, ramp control, and emergency management. He is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations through compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety directives and Airport Operating Certificate requirements, while overseeing airport certification programs and operating directives.

Hedgepeth joined the CCDOA in 2007 as a ramp controller and advanced through progressive leadership roles. He brings 26 years of aviation experience spanning military and civilian airport operations. Before joining the Department, he served in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller and watch supervisor.

Hedgepeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and a Master of Science in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is a FAA certified control tower operator, an American Association of Airport Executives Airport-certified member, and holds Federal Emergency Management Agency incident command system certifications. He has contributed to national aviation initiatives through participation in the NextGen Implementation Working Group and Collaborative Decision-Making Surface Team and supported regional efforts, including the 2024 Super Bowl Host Committee and the Las Vegas Formula 1 Grand Prix Special Events Committee.

Originally from Palmdale, California, Hedgepeth has been part of the Southern Nevada aviation community for nearly two decades. He and his wife, Tiffany, have one daughter, Corinne. In his free time, he enjoys chess, fishing, and spending time with his family.
